Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, you can find the Robles Elementary kids setting up and warming up for Folklórico. Folklórico at Robles has flourished in such a marvelous way. With 32 kids in attendance from pre-k to fifth grade. Folklórico has opened the doors to many who have stage fright, are shy, or have difficulty making friends. The Folklórico group has become a beautiful little family, with older kids making sure the little ones are following the steps and the little ones keep everyone on their toes. Twirling dresses, bows, flowers, and Charro shoes are only the beginning of this exciting adventure.
Ballet folklórico is a traditional dance style that combines ballet techniques with local folk culture to tell stories about a region’s traditions, beliefs, and spirit. The term baile folklórico is Spanish for “folkloric dance”.
