Principal’s Message

Dear Robles Bobcat Families,

Welcome back to an exciting new school year at Robles Elementary! We hope you had a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and time with family. As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, we are energized and ready to build on the strong foundation we’ve created together.

We’re incredibly proud to share that our students showed remarkable academic growth on last year’s AASA assessments. These results, which will be released in the coming months, reflect the hard work of our students, families, and staff.

Events

  • To get the year started, in-person registration will take place July 21–24 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is an important time to complete all paperwork and make sure your child is ready for the first day of school. You can also complete this online at any time from the comfort of home.
  • Please join us for Meet the Teacher Night on July 30 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Note that the school will be closed that morning from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. for staff meetings and preparation.
  • The first day of school is July 31!

Hours of Operation

  • Office Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • Student Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:25 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:25 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
    • Breakfast in the classroom is from 8:30–8:45 a.m.
    • Students are considered late if they arrive after 8:45 a.m. and must be signed in at the front office by an adult.
  • At this time, before- and after-school programs are not being offered as we await guidance on federal funding from the Department of Education. However, the Robles Ranch Community Center will be present at Meet the Teacher Night to share details about their afterschool program.

Technology

We would also like to make families aware of a new Arizona state law regarding cell phones on school campuses. In accordance with this law, and consistent with our existing technology policy, all phones, tablets, headphones, and smartwatches must remain off and stored in backpacks at all times while on campus. These items may not be used or visible during the school day. If any of these devices are found outside of a student’s backpack or in use, they will be confiscated, and parents will be contacted for retrieval. We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.

Student Safety

  • Student safety during arrival and dismissal remains a top priority. Please drive slowly in the drop-off lane and help ensure a safe environment for all students.
  • At parent pickup, families must exit their vehicles and come to the upper gate to pick up their child.
    • Students may not walk to cars on their own—an adult must be present for student release.
  • As a reminder from our student handbook, all changes to bus transportation must be submitted in writing by noon to allow time for proper communication and planning.

We’re excited to expand our quarterly recognition programs this year! In addition to academic awards and Bobcat Days, we will introduce new awards for outstanding attendance. Students who have three or fewer absences and no more than three late arrivals or early pickups per quarter will be invited to a special celebration. Every minute in school matters, and we want to recognize the families and students who make consistent attendance a priority.

We are excited to welcome back our Bobcat families and staff, as well as greet our newest Bobcats! Together, we will continue to build a strong, supportive, and high-achieving school community. Looking forward to a marvelous year!

Warm regards,

Dustie Gunn
